Spring is yet to bloom in its full glory and we already have our minds set on the summer beauty collections. Warm glowing shades, sheer glosses and pretty palettes… it’s never hit us this hard before, but who can blame us? Driven by the economy recovery, beauty brands saved no efforts to sprice up their image and increase their competitive skills, attracting new customers with exciting product announcements. Mission accomplished, we’re ready to spend some money!
Topshop beauty line
As if Sir Philip Green
wasn’t getting enough money from us already, Topshop is now venturing into the cosmetic business. Designed by the company’s consulting makeup artist Hannah Murray, the British high street chain has announced a beauty line inspired in Topshops’s colors range and trendy looks . The collection, which will be available in May at Topshop’s main stores and online, includes two beauty ranges – a core line and a trend beauty line, being the latter a slightly more adventurous selection to be changed seasonally. All nested in a playful, polka-dotted packaging, the products will retail at an high street price, ranging from £4 to £12.
Give Me Liberty of London, by MAC
Judging by MAC’s previous collaborations, the new beauty line is set to be a sell-out success. Teaming up with iconic British luxury brand Liberty of London, MAC Cosmetics is launching a limited-edition makeup range featuring 22 pieces for eyes, lips, cheeks and nails – vibrant, blue-based hues in packages embellished with Liberty motifs. The collection (which also includes makeup bags and a specially designed Liberty of London scarf ) is now available at U.S. MAC counters and MACCosmetics.com. The international launch is set for April 2010. Prices will range around £4 and £12 (expect a higher price range for the bags and scarf).
Les pop-up de Chanel
Last but not least, is the m
uch- anticipated Les pop-up de Chanel makeup summer collection. We’re loving the bright summer corals and the sugary tones on the nail polish trio – Nouvelle Vague, an aqua blue shade varnish is set to replace Jade in every fashionista’s heart. The beauty range also includes Chanel’s Genial lip color, a coral shade that was a favorite during the label’s couture show in Paris. The collection will be available in April 2010, carrying the spicy Chanel price tag (prices start from around £20). Damn you Peter Philips! How do you always get us so right?
