A room at Hotel Missoni, Edinburgh

Rosita Missoni, 77-year-old matriarch of the Italian fashion house, has helped design a hotel in Scotland, aptly named Hotel Missoni. Located in Edinburgh’s Old Town, the hotel reflects the same visual appeal as the fashion brand itself. The rooms feature rich, bright wall colors, and tablecloths, bathrobes, drapes and more, derived from fabrics from previous Missoni ready-to-wear collections. Rosita reveals that both her and her husband, Tai, find most of their inspiration from nature and European artists. Also revealed by Missoni is her distaste for hotel carpets. She is adamant about the fact that hotel maids generally take a mere 15 minutes to clean a hotel room – and that is nowhere near enough time to properly clean and sanitize a carpet! Therefore it’s no surprise that the hotel features oak floors. Missoni plans to launch four more hotels in Kuwait, Cape Town, Brazil and Oman over the next three years. Definitely a must-see for anyone who dreams of zig-zags, textured fabrics, vibrant colors and all things Missoni. What better place to have such lovely dreams while you sleep?

Love dieting and fashion? Why not treat yourself to a limited edition bottle of Coca-Cola Light designed by Etro, Versace, Ferreti, Marni, Blumarine, Fendi, Moschino and Missoni. The collaboration, which we mentioned a few weeks ago, directs proceeds from each limited edition Coke Light purchase to a charity that funds scholarships for women that were effected by last years earthquake in Italy.
