Like the majority of industries, the fashion world has suffered big losses due to the recession. Hallowed fashion houses such as Christian Lacroix have found themselves filing for bankruptcy and others have seen profits plummet. In the midst of the storm, one designer has stood the test: Michael Kors. Kors has gone from strong to stronger in the past couple of years, proving that a recession can be ridden out. In a year that has seen him design outfits for Michelle Obama and a new series of Project Runway, it seems Kors has found the formula for success. His secret? Versatility. His past collections have incorporated timeless pieces, proving durable and wearable. His passion and enthusiasm for his work is evident in the clothes he designs, and his approach to life. Kors’ clothes can often be seen on Gossip Girl, adorning Serena Van Der Woodsen and her mother (both annoyingly always look flawless), demonstrating the timeless nature of pieces and their wearability for young and older women.
