In a bid to aid young designers, the British Fashion Council have teamed up with Vogue Magazine to supply a £200,000 fund for business and financial means. The fund, launched as part of the BFC’s 25th Anniversary celebrations, aims to help start up designers find their feet and help their businesses find solid ground amidst the financial crisis. As a leader of the fashion industry, Vogue rely heavily on the talent of young designers, to help the fashion world find and endorse, raw and hot new talents to inspire and create. The designers must appeal to a panel, consisting of key members of Vogue UK, and the BFC, and be judged. The winning designer will be announced in April 2010. Speaking of the fund, British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman said, “Its focus is on supporting young designers who are based here and we hope they will stay on and be a part of London Fashion Week.”
