Ever since its creation in 1999 as the “Hollywood’s answer to Glastonbury“, the Coachella festival has become known not only for an all-star line-up of music and art, but also for its major fashion component. Every year, style-savvy celebrities flock to the Colorado Desert to give their best take on festival chic dressing and once again last weekend, fashion levels went up a few notches. We saw a lot of hippie and folk references (with knitted and crocheted pieces making a huge comeback for the summer season), psychedelic prints and Spring 2010’s shorter-than-short shorts paired with harsh cowboy boots. Our favourites? The Topshop crochet dress worn by Kate Bosworth and all that head-accessory craziness going around the festers.
Take a look at Coachella fashion and get a few hints on artful fusion between style and comfort. Who gets your vote?
