Velvet Revolution
Like a fashion flashback, velvet made its round to become a catwalk star. Turned into a full-blown trend of the season by designers as Chloé, Christopher Kane or Bottega Veneta, the luxurious fabric exudes femininity and sophistication. Far from the frumpy shapes of the 80s, the ultra soft texture resurfaces in sleek details and sumptuous cocktail dresses adding a hint of glamour to the fashion scene.
Style tip: Partner the cocktail dress with bare legs, avoiding fancy silhouettes. Don’t overkill the trend by using too much accessories. Velvet already brings its share of drama to the outfit.

The statement look is not confined to women’s fashion. Sprucing up the wardrobe, the plush fabric is back into men’s world, with Velvet blazers being the key piece for this season. Truly versatile, can be worn over any type of slacks from office wear to night time outfit.
Style tip: choose a more conservative shirt to make this office-worthy, but both button-downs and tees can work under the jacket in the evening.
